Frequently asked questions

Short answers to fair questions about deposits, yield, the token and safety.

Short answers. Each one links to the page with the long version.

is my deposit real?

Yes. You deposit real USDG into the CrumbVault smart contract on Robinhood Chain, from your own wallet. The vault is non-custodial and immutable: only you can withdraw your balance, at any time, with no fee and no delay.

do i actually earn yield or stocks?

No. In this simulation the yield and the weekly stock crumbs are numbers in the interface only. No interest is paid and no stock token is bought. You always withdraw exactly what you deposited. The point is to let you feel how the full protocol will work, with nothing at stake but gas.

can the team move or freeze my funds?

No. CrumbVault has no owner, no admin function, no pause and no upgrade path. There is no code path that sends your USDG anywhere other than back to you. Read the contract page and the verified source to check this yourself.

where is the $CRUMB contract address?

$CRUMB is not launched yet. The official contract address will only ever be posted on @CrumbRH and on the token page of this website. Any other address is a scam.

why 7%?

7% is an illustrative rate, chosen because it is in the range that USDG lending on Robinhood Chain has been advertised at. It is not a live rate, not a forecast and not a promise. Real lending yields move every day and can drop sharply.

why does the drop happen on monday?

The full protocol converts a week of yield into stock tokens in one batch, at a moment when the underlying market is open and liquid: Monday at 9:30 AM Eastern Time, the US market open. The simulation follows the same clock, including daylight saving changes. It ignores market holidays.

which stocks can i choose?

The simulation offers SPY, QQQ, NVDA, AAPL, TSLA. Your choice is saved in your browser only, and you can change it whenever you like. In the full protocol the list will depend on which stock tokens are liquid on Robinhood Chain.

can i use this from the united states?

The simulation only handles USDG, so it has no stock exposure. The full protocol is different: Robinhood stock tokens may not be offered or sold to US persons, and other countries restrict them too. If that applies to you, the full version of CRUMB will not be available to you. See risks.

what does it cost?

The simulation has no fee of any kind. You only pay Robinhood Chain gas for your own transactions (an approval, a deposit, a withdrawal), which is typically a fraction of a cent. See fees for what is planned in the full version.

why does the app ask me to approve before every deposit?

Because it only ever asks for the exact amount you are depositing. Unlimited approvals are convenient and dangerous; an exact approval is used up entirely by the deposit, leaving nothing behind for anyone to abuse.

i cleared my browser. did i lose my crumbs?

No. Your simulated crumbs are recomputed from your on-chain deposit history every time you open the app, on any device. Only your stock choice lives in the browser, so you may need to pick it again.
